The main question is what is the research lab and what is the use in Empires and Allies game? It is a feature of Empires and Allies, which give you research upgrades, marking our units more power, less expensive, and faster to build. The first research lab is Army Research lab 
Now the working principle?

First build your research lab, after building the research lab, you are able to start the research for improving your units. It is a long process. First of all, you have o gather some parts for being allowed to start upgrade process.
You can upgrade the unit five different times, with different bounces. Each upgrade will affect all unite of that type.
You will also see the upgrades you have made during battles.

I Strongly Advise you that upgrade as much as possible.

Empires & Allies is a great game on facebook, and the space is the very important part of this game. So here I am share with you how to storage units and other itms in empires & Allies game and save space
Here is the three simple steps by which you can store unit in Empires & Allies
1. When the unit is build, click on the building that has that has created it to deploy it

2. Instead of placing the unit on your island or water, click on red button in the lower right of the screen

3. The unit will now be store in your inventory and a pop up will came on screen and asking for confirm that the item was stored.
